South Africa and Pakistan qualify for next year’s ICC Women’s World Cup in Australia

Stellenbosch, Feb.22 (ICC Media Release): South Africa and Pakistan secured their places at next year’s ICC Women’s World Cup in Australia after recording convincing victories in the semi-finals of the qualifier event in Stellenbosch on Friday.

Hosts South Africa defeated Ireland by seven wickets while Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by 94 runs.

ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier moved to South Africa

Dubai, Jan 8 (ICC Media Release): The ICC today announced that the Women’s World Cup Qualifier event, scheduled to be staged in Lahore, Pakistan from 18-24 February 2008, will now take place in South Africa instead.

The decision was arrived at following independent security reports and extensive discussions by ICC management and the ICC Women’s Committee.

The event will be staged in conjunction with Cricket South Africa and the Boland Cricket Union in the Stellenbosch district of the Western Cape over the same dates.

India women aim to complete hat-trick of Asia Cup titles

Three-nation event begins in Jaipur from Wednesday

DUBAI, Dec.12 (ICC Press Release): India's women will be aiming to complete a hat-trick of Asia Cup titles when they face Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the triangular tournament to be played in Jaipur, India, from 13 to 21 December.

India won the inaugural tournament in Sri Lanka in 2004 and successfully defended the title the following year in Pakistan. Now India launches its title defence against traditional rivals Pakistan.

This year's tournament will take place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

It will be a special and historic time for the Pakistan team as it makes its first international appearance overseas since the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took control of women's cricket in the country.
